Hudson River House

The proposal is for a house in New York State just north of the New Jersey border. The site is a thin steeply sloping parcel of land with approximately 55 feet of frontage onto the Hudson River. The overall size of the house is 2500 square feet.
The clients felt that the most dramatic feature of the site was its steep slope, which gives approaching visitors a dramatic view of the Hudson River. They requested that the house be designed so that the building would not be intrusive to that initial view of the river.
